Spleen Surgery

Splenic surgery, though not common, is another type of surgery performed by our surgeons. The spleen, which functions as a blood filtering organ, is removed for malignancies, pathologic enlargements, blood disorders and traumatic ruptures. In many circumstances, this type of surgery can be done laparoscopically through minimally invasive techniques.
